Bearing in mind that I will be leaving this current computer I use in about four months, I’ve been going through and doing a lot of ‘do I need this?’ deletion of my files.. This is important, as my mass of photos take up most of the virtual space.
To show you exactly how bad I am at deleting photos, here are some from a folder aptly titled ‘Random Really’ (there’s also one called ‘The Random/Arty and Loved’, which has slightly more importance than this one)!
As most of the pictures are old – I did take very many during my 365 photo challenge in 2011 – most still have a date-stamp on them, which I originally used to help me with the project. I loved to experiment with the filters on my phone-camera, leaving some of the photos rather queer imagery.
This is the nerve-bank of my pictures, where every one tells a different story of my domestic life.

Some trends I inevitably noticed when I was going through deleting: at least three pictures of a single object; pictures of the blank sky, block colours; a lot of pictures of shoes… Looking down pictures, ie. of the bleak shadow of a staircase. Pictures of inanimate objects in my house filtered through black and white; my nails or jewellery; the house viewed through an odd angle…
As I neared the end of the folder, I started to notice familiar ‘off-cuts’ from my photos of the week. Whilst I don’t always cast the bits away into the Random folder, it’s no surprise that they don’t have a specific folder themselves.
Maybe I should re-sort my photographs entirely… xD
