Interesting
little big gismo, isn’t it? A steam wheel from the Abbey Pumping Station run by the Space Centre in Leicester. We steampunks debarked there for the weekend to explore the centre, and, purely for the steam, the Pumping Station – and several of the contraptions were operating. At first, I was annoyed with the fact that my shutter speed couldn’t catch up with the movement of those spokes (my camera is about two years old now, at least), but then I changed the exposure and went with the effect of movement the camera picked up. Background is a bit cluttered, but I like the way the colours work on the foreground motions.
I also got to spend some time with my gentleman soldier of the Tea Brigade.
Playing with the sepia filter and histogram on my photo software on my laptop… 😛
Oh, that’s beautiful! I love all the repeating curves and straight lines in this photo. 🙂
Thanks! 😀 It was a very beautiful piece of genuine machinery in the flesh.
